Now none of us are huge soccer fans by any stretch of those snug polyester soccer shorts, but we decided to take interest in Birmingham's interests, the World Cup. We had a very sporty date at Good People Brewing Company, a local Birmingham staple, to watch the United States v. Germany game. And while we remain under-aged and sipping our water like it was 1999, others were definitely enjoying the ale around. Solid Outing.

Spooky Scary

Here we visit the site where Ghost Hunters have come before, Sloss Furnaces. Sloss was an instrumental part of developing Birmingham into a flourishing industrial metropolis. So like exploring your partner's family vacation scrapbooks, we came to see where it all began.

Cupcake O'Clock

Unlike other 2nd dates that have occurred, this date was free of  back to back screenings of summer blockbusters that featured Tom Cruise as both the protagonist and the antagonist. There was no bickering about how much butter to put in the popcorn or whether Twizzlers or Red Vines deserves the coveted position of movie essential. No, this date was positively perfect. While cupcakes themselves are petite loafs of circular sweet perfection, it was the Urban Standard touch and Railroad Park ambience that made this day so special. 

What's On 2nd?

Awkward first dates... Nothing quite like em, huh? Our relationship with Birmingham began at What's On 2nd?, a local antique shop known entirely for its eccentricity. The date was a bit rocky at points, but overall it went pretty smoothly. I think it's safe to say that a second date with Birmingham is just around the corner.
